I love the seed heads of this type of flower and find there's endless possibilities for experimenting with mark making and patterns with them. Here I've used ink and watercolour washes including some 'moonstone' paint in the Daniel Smith range which gives a lovely pearlised quality to the finish. Deep pinks, mauves, green gold and warm sienna yellows.
The painting is mounted with a warm-white mountboard and framed in a narrow birch wood frame.
