This was just one of the many charming little winding streets I discovered in the beautiful town of Rovinj in Croatia. I was really spoilt for choice. What a picturesque place – an artist's dream come true! I loved the ancient archway and the washing hanging out in this view and knew I wouldn't need to step aside to let cars pass in this narrow lane – there was no space for a car! As I painted, I soaked up the sights and sounds in Via Arsenale and got to know some of the inhabitants as they came and went – including the local cats!
Ulica Via Arsenale was painted on site on Hahnemühle 600g mould-made watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes mounted to fit a frame size of 40x50cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
