The portrait of a Ukrainian bride is dated to the 1930s of the 20th century. When I saw this old photo, I was struck by the depth of her gaze, concentration and at the same time tenderness. I painted this portrait with oil paints on the background of Ukrainian embroidered ornament. The idea of ​​this picture is to show the ornament as roots, as ancestors, as folk traditions and the acquisition of previous generations, which is a protection, amulet, and treasure for the girl. The picture is filled with Ukrainian ethnic flavor and vibe. The contrast of the black and white portrait and the bright embroidery shows the combination of different time levels: the conception and eternity of the embroidery and the flow of human life, which once becomes the past.
