Artwork description:

These are a couple of netmesh screenprints I produced back when the attack on the Ukraine began. I was shocked like many others and I wanted to record this event as an artwork. I wanted to bring together various elements to form images that juxtaposed imagery on top of one another, forming images that tries to express how I felt about the whole event happening in a fellow European country. I have used net curtains as the screen to highlight the destruction of people's homes.

This image brings together two images, one of destroyed buildings and one of a figure that is kept in shadow, as the shadow of war looms overhead.

These images have lead to a series of images exploring the conflict which is still happening after many months.

Materials used:

Screenprint ink on 150gsm printing paper.
