Original artwork description:

I loved painting this work as the dancer's angles create such a beautiful composition. The focus is on the ballet shoes as she gets ready to practice, the ribon bright contrasting against the dark background .
This is a painting in a series on the ballerina Clairese Mayo. I've tried to keep the texture of the background quite painterly, trying to highlight the process of painting alongside the process behind a ballet performance. This is a collaborative piece with the photographer Steven Lemke and is one of a series on the dancer Clairese Mayo.

Materials used:

Artist Quality Acrylic Paintings, Canvas Board, Framed
