This is a limited edition etching which has been hand coloured with watercolour. It is taken from a limited edition of 50.
This is one of the etchings used to illustrate a hand printed book, with a limited edition of just 12 copies, called 'In the Heart of the Woods' which I have produced in collaboration with John Garrett. It illustrates the following poem by Janet Miles which is from the book “Images of Women in Transition” compiled by Janice Grana, copyright 1976, 1991, 1997.
Two Trees
A portion of your soul has been
entwined with mine
A gentle kind of togetherness, while
separately we stand.
As two trees deeply rooted in
separate plots of ground,
While their topmost branches
come together,
Forming a miracle of lace
against the heavens.
