Original artwork description:

This painting encapsulates two human traits which are often thought to be in contradiction but are not necessarily so.  On the one hand, there is a calm, carefully blended and nebular painting, a cloud or dreamy landscape floating across the pink ground. This might be the contemplative and a more measured part of the human mind. The other is the unapologetic, excited and rapturously joyful explosion of pink (Michael Harding 'Brilliant Pink'), which is not blended and yet sits somehow harmoniously with the layers beneath.  There is an attempt in this work to balance the psyche and yet allow the elements to remain gloriously unique.
