The starting point of this artwork were two model studies painted in oil with a warm palette. These studies were then cut out and mounted on a carrier painted in complementary blue-ish hue, for a contrasting effect. The end result is simultaneously graphic and painterly, emphasising the negative and the positive form of the human body, which creates an intriguing tension between the two figures.
