Original artwork description:

Always on the lookout for trees of character to paint, I was drawn to this one by its gangly twisted shape and striking lichen covered trunk which had the effect of making the trunk appear a soft blue. I enjoy the perspective of looking up towards the tree crown as I paint, taking the focus to the tree itself, rather than its surroundings.
