In Kyoto, near Kiyomizu dera and Sannenzaka twilight comes with exceptional quietness.
All the noise and people move towards Kyoto station or Sanjo, leaving narrow streets dark and calm.

You can hear lonely creaking sounds of bicycle passing by somewhere, or suddenly opened wooden door. The old district is fallen asleep.

Shadows are dark blue with hints of brown, sky has this particularly warm color - the sign of street lights somewhere in the city.

Old shrine is completely dark except for the big lantern - contrast detail that captivated me and inspired to create this watercolor.
