Once again inspired by the wonderful Peak District

This painting has been created using my usual technique of layering and glazing to achieve intense colour and depth. The glazing of the oil paints creates a luminosity I think only oil can achieve, especially with colours such as the various greens I have mixed and colours such as magenta, which I have used for the heather. The very fine detailed grasses in the foreground have been applied one-by-one!

Although this painting is ready to hang complete with string on the back, there may be preference to have this piece framed due to visible side tacking in the canvas stretcher.
