'The dark side of the moon is turquoise' Astronomers tell us. Measurements from a telescope in Hawaii show blue light reflected from Earth turns turquoise when it bounces off moon.
McCullock's latest abstract explores and embellishes this fact in the form of a very textural painting. Cement has been liberally and artfully applied . Many layers of paint and pigments follow. The top left hand corner is created with resin, sprayed with water before the set to create crater like appearances. Small shards of glass in the depth of the craters add spark and luminescence.
The painting is signed and wax sealed on the reverse, and has hardware attached so is ready to hang.
If required the artist is happy to supply a handmade card with a message written in her calligraphic hand.
