Transform the lead of your thoughts into gold is a 2023 work.
A large canvas with a face in the center that speaks of us.
The black background, which often appears almost like a theatrical backdrop to my canvases, serves to bring clarity in a double way: each stroke of black is functional to allow me to enter a vibrant and subtle dimension that allows me to access the stories of men and women and to bring balance to their passage. The image that arrives on the canvas is just a frame of a complex scene. The black background brings light, not only to me, the artist, but highlights the light of every face that dialogues in this sublime passage. Black, darkness, should not be fought or feared but understood in its usefulness which is always in line with our personal journey of reunion through life and death. Recently, embroidery has entered my research and can be compared to life: the unitary design cannot be understood if one concentrates on the detail but, by broadening one's gaze, one can see the meaning of those continuous curves and narrowings. Observing from above it is possible to enjoy the wonderful design of life.
The work you are looking at is more contemporary than ever because after years of fear and uncertainty, man needs to return to his personal power, to the center of him. Man seems to find himself in a complex world, made up of fast rhythms, distorted information, stormy seas polluting our minds and in all of this man needs to understand, to stop and look at himself. Art can be a great awakening service to return to oneself. When I create, I am the first to be amazed by what arrives, from the faces right into the textures of the lace and into the depth of the words. I am amazed and moved by touching points of joy that words struggle to convey. I am moved by the wisdom and great respect that life has for us.
