The painting is inspired from one of my many, many sketches. Slowly I am reaching into my trunk full of sketches, organizing them, and reworking them into paintings … and some digital works. Many of my inspirations come from sketching in public places. More are creative interpretations from images I see…. such as this one.
Here I am using a loose approach to applying the colour, more expressive. The simpler result can be quite refreshing. The figure always make a good subject. The lines are fluid, the challenge is to put movement into the painting with colour and ‘splash’.
The close up pictures are to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress.
