The Turkish Oud is a stringed instrument with an interesting shape of a pear used in traditional Turkish and Mediterranean music. I painted this one because of the unique shape and unusual curve of the neck. I added my playful experimentation with vibrant color to the striking composition for a spectacular result. On a background of rich violet with a dark shadow, the pink, red, green and yellow hues of the oud bounce off each other as though they are dancing. The painting edges are finished neatly with a color matching the artwork. All needed hardware is attached and the work is ready to hang on the wall.
