Painted on-site at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, WI. Features an astonishing orange poppy flower of the variety named "Turkenlouis" with spiky-tipped ruffled petals and a brilliant rich color. The poppy is flanked by a couple of purple and white irises of the variety named "Stairway to Heaven". Above the flower is a deep blue background with hints of green leaves and red peony buds. Dripping effects in the background are created with water-based casein paint and glazed over with oil. Painted on board with both palette knife and brush. The shape of the flower petals is enhanced by the thickly applied paint.
Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a mahogany colored finish. May also be purchased unframed.
