This painting was created as the final of six pieces on the theme of black and white optical art for a local exhibition in December 2022. I’ve been fascinated by patterns since I was young; back then, I would colour in patterns in black and white by using a black pen and leaving every other square or shape white. The progression to painting black and white optical art in oils is just a natural step forward from that, I think!

This painting has been produced using artist grade oil paint on stretched canvas. A coat of professional grade art varnish has been applied to give a semi-gloss finish and protect the painting from dust, UV light and other environmental factors. The sides of the painting have been painted black and the painting has been fitted with picture wire, ready to hang. The painting is signed on the reverse and will be shipped with the Certificate of Authenticity.

The painting measures 24 x 36 inches (61 x 91 cm).

All paintings are professionally wrapped to ensure they arrive in perfect condition and are shipped with tracking and insurance.
