For Kelley-Cruz, the painting process is an experimental conversation rather than something that's planned. It’s a call and response, each layer of paint is a reaction to the layer that came before. The joy is in the process of applying paint, layering collage, and making marks. Kelley-Cruz follows her curiosity, exploring the different ways to connect with herself and express the unexplained.
