I received a bouquet of tulips some time ago, and after a few days in the jar, I noticed them bending gracefully in different directions, almost as if they were dancing. It was such a beautiful and fleeting moment that I felt inspired to capture it in a painting.
You might notice some dried up parts on the edges of the leaves. I was debating myself weather to paint it green or leave it as it is, and I've decided to leave it. Those parts are what make this scene beautiful to me. Those tulips are on the verge of dying, and this dance, that virtuous movement they're making, is their last display of life force- more graceful, more beautiful than ever, despite the near end.
