Vibrant, colourful tulips inspired this larger-than-life painting. It is realistic, depicting actual colours of the flowers in sunlight and shadow, with an eye to abstract shapes and forms. The term 'Tulipomania', also known as 'Tulip Mania', refers to a historical time when tulips were avidly collected and marketed at exorbitant prices. Painted in oils on sturdy polyester-cotton canvas, it is painted around the sides. It ships rolled in a tube unless the buyer is in or near Chicago. After re-stretching at a framer, a frame can be added.
