Original artwork description:

Tropical Rain is a watery and moody abstract monotype painting. The fluid shapes and layers of paint evoke a rainy landscape. The texture of subtly raised red and yellow-green paint contrasts with the smooth blue paint.

This monotype painting was inspired by warm but rainy summer days. I love the way the rain and fleeting darkness enhances the natural blues and greens in the landscape.

I apply the paint to a gelatin plate using rollers, and spatulas and then transfer the paint to the paper.
