This canvas is the second from the Kyiv series, painted to order. I was born in Kyiv, this is my hometown. Sophia Kyiv is a unique place and this is no coincidence. The temple complex in the center of the capital of Ukraine, its accent building is the St. Sophia, a temple built in the first half of the 11th century, according to the chronicle, by Prince Yaroslav the Wise at the site of the victory over the Pechenegs in 1036. Unique temple architecture. As an architect, I have had great pleasure working on this series of three canvases.
