The idea for the series arose when I frankly admitted to myself that my primary stress reaction to war and new challenges is stupor. "Fight, run, freeze" - this is how psychology classifies primary reactions to stress. I just freeze, as if the body does not belong to me. In the minimalist and simple execution of this triptych, there are many meanings that tell about the state, the intimacy of the process and the idea of solving the problem.
This work arose out of my interest not only in the physical manifestation of the "Stupor" reaction, but also in the mental one. A figure leaning against an invisible wall with its forehead in an absolutely clean, snow-white, transparent, chaste circle is about the choice "not to choose". Do not take any action to get out of the situation. I follow the fashion wave "Not to choose" in society. It's easier to shift responsibility for life's failures, going to a job you don't like, being in a relationship with a person because of attachment, not love, and so on. (These examples are to illustrate the problem, but are not intended to offend anyone). What if the brain's default task was not to survive, but to thrive? Mental stupor would no longer be needed?
The colors in the works are the ones I use most often in my paintings: Blue Indanthrene, Golden Yellow, Permanent red deep. I took the triad of these colors by referring to the color theory of Johannes Itten, a researcher of color and a representative of the innovative generation of artists and architects of the 20th century. Yellow, Red, Blue - colors that can be distinguished by a person and from which can be formed in a mixture of others. With only these 3 colors, I can create any harmonious plot. Therefore, I created parallels with the solution and colors. If this is always the case, what can I do to change it? Start combining colors, start trying methods, tools, experts who can help. Among a thousand shades, attempts, there is your harmony.
I used Arches 300 g/m² archival quality paper, watercolor paints from the best producers Winsor Newton, Rosa, Van Gogh, Rembrandt in the world and water.
