Representing the human body has been one of the major themes throughout art history since prehistoric times.
This is one of a series that I am working on depicting older females in various poses and showing a variety of expressions. From Di Vinci’s Mona Lisa to Warhol’s Marilyn, more works of art have focused on the female than any other subject, and for good reason. For this particular work, the mature female becomes the dominant theme. I have reinforced this theme with brilliant flesh colors, contrasts and a plain dark grey background.
When I got started with this project, featuring older females, I thought it would be difficult to find mature women who would pose for me. As it turned out, it was no problem at all. I think that we, as a society, tend to focus too much on youth and miss a lot of the beauty of older age.


Tribute to mature beauty #8 is a one of a kind, original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint on 5 mil Dura-Lar artist mylar film. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

. This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on tempered masonite with a simple, two inch wide painted wood frame. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall. It can be on your wall within five minutes.

For my overseas customers, I will send the artwork “rolled in a tube”. The extra cost of shipping large, flat packages, combined with the added susceptibility for damage, makes it more sensible to ship the safer way, in a tube. Contact me for a total adjusted price.
