Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci
In the 1980s, when I started painting in oil, I wanted to reproduce a great work to unravel the secret of the author.
Attracted by the portraits, fascinated by La Jonconde, I wanted to copy it in the most convincing way possible. The work lasted a year ...!
On a canvas of the same size as the portrait exhibited at the Louvre.
And I discovered more than one secret!
My curiosity for geometry has been fulfilled; here's why:
I chose characteristic points (the smile, the eyes, the crossing of the hands) to calculate their position on my blank canvas from several photos of the original .; Every time what a surprise; The points chosen were equidistant from the sides of the work; Is it chance ?? In my opinion it is not possible: this painting is MATHEMATIC, and this corresponds well to the profile of universal scholar of Leonar
