In 1966 when Jimi Hendrix came to London he moved into a flat in the West End just along the road from where I was living. We became quite friendly with Jimi and the band and I would paint on clothes and help a friend provide them with some stage gear (Jimi always seemed to wander around the flat with a Strat round his neck)... I was musing last night how good it might be to know some of the people I knew back then in these days and thought that if I was asked to design a 'LP' cover then how would I go about it.. first, I thought maybe a sort of abstract design with many guitars, maybe used as a feeeze and then digitally manipulated... before I knew it I'd started a sort of abstract/guitar painting.. Think I'll call it 'Tribute to Jimi'...
Not signed at time of photoraphing but, will be before dispatch.
Materials used:
Oil on Cotton on Board. Black frame with light Insert.
