Artwork in which I have devised an imaginary portrait of the Italian painter Duccio di Buoninsegna (Siena, 1255 - 1318), one of the most important exponents of Sienese painting in the mid 200s. Duccio's art originally had a solid Byzantine component and a considerable knowledge of Cimabue (almost certainly his master in his early years), to which he added a personal reworking in the Gothic sense, understood as transalpine linearity and elegance, a soft line and a refined range of colors. The Majesty of Siena Cathedral, his masterpiece, is an emblematic work of 14th-century Italian art. I created this work with a fusion of expressionism and realism, committing myself to the emotional representation of the relevant figure. The oils allowed me to shape light and shadow, drawing deep emotions that convey my passion for historicity and humanity, thus infusing your home with an energy rich in history and feeling.
