Original artwork description:

My friend wrote a poem about the challenges and trials that come to each person’s life, and he asked me to create a painting to express his poem. So I thought and prayed about the trials, large and small, that I’ve faced, that everyone faces. We think of them as problems, sources of tension, obstacles to our happiness. Of course we want to be happy, and that’s just what God wants for us, too. But, He wants a much greater happiness for us than we can imagine. And He knows how to guide us there. Our trials can actually help to bring about positive change in our lives, to bring us closer to the real and lasting happiness that God wants for us. Trials remind us that we need God’s help, and when we journey through our challenges--relying upon God’s love and mercy--we find that the experience, no matter how difficult, has changed us for the better. The closer we come to Him, the happier we are!

Materials used:

acrylic and oil on canvas
