Original artwork description:

Tri_221 is an acrylics, sumi-e ink and paint markers on canvas painting. It contrasts geometric shapes, colors and line work in a balanced but powerful, almost harsh manner. In part, the shapes seem to appear from the dark background consisting of a lightly texture grey surface and an more organic black shape, made in sumi-e style. Below, the shapes converge into forms that take inspiration from architectural design and city planning, building a bridge from the purely abstract to forms that seem to convey meaning. The painting takes reference in constructivism and japanese graphics design in a contemporary and explorative manner.

Materials used:

sumi-e ink, acrylics and paint markers
