A magical and mysterious place,
Not far from the cove,
Surrounded by woodland,
The statuesque winter trees,
Pastel sunset colours.

Words and memories of when I stayed at Lamorna cove at Christmas 2023.
Original impressionist watercolour on rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 300 gsm 140lb.
I used sporadic back washes for the sunset sky and a pressing, dragging technique for the tree shapes. I didn’t draw the trees I created them through my paint markings. I waited for the paper to dry to get this effect. A gradual build up of colours.
It was the furthest place I have stayed so far nearest Lands End.
