Original artwork description:

This small encaustic is painted in harmonious shades of blues and greens, with some touches of metallic violet and silver. I've also embedded large and small pearls and chips of blue and green glass. There's almost the sense of the aura borealis in the lower portion, where veils of color fall into wispy gossamer drapes, but the overall suggestion is music and of trees at night swaying. I imagined they were listening to Bach and feeling utter delight. This is painted on cradled panel which is painted a deep bluish-green and does not require a frame (nor is a frame desirable).

Materials used:

encaustic paint, powdered pigment, oil stick on cradled panel
