Original artwork description:
This is a one of a kind sculpture. I found this beautiful piece of oak in the woods on one of my walks and it was irresistible. I took it home and dried it in front of the wood burner for several weeks until it has really hardened. I then brushed it to get any loose bits off and then it has been varnished so that it can be wiped and it is protected. I then made the owl using needle felting technique. The owl is created from 100% pure carded merino wool which has been naturally dyed. It started life as one big ball of wool which I then sculpted by needle felting the wool. The owl has been carefully glued to the piece of oak. The sculpture has a wire on the back so that it is ready to hang. You can see it hanging in our barn on the photographs.
This sculpture comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which has my signature and date.
