The incredible skill, endless patience and imagination that brings the art of creating a 'tree on a tray' has intrigued me for decades.  Many visits, during my time in Japan, were made to glorious displays of this art. Recently I was taken to the outstanding bonsai collection at the Canberra Arboretum in the ACT.  This gum eucalyptus held me with its grace and typical Australian-ness.  It is true that my imagination conjured up the gardener but I truly sensed the tender care that enveloped this beauty.  I hope I have shared the love I felt there.
