The expression Tree of Life was used as a metaphor for the phylogenetic tree of common descent in the evolutionary sense in a famous passage by Charles Darwin. The tree of knowledge, connecting to heaven and the underworld, and the tree of life, connecting all forms of creation, are both forms of the world tree or cosmic tree.
Every print is hand pulled by me, and therefore proudly shows the various marks left from the rough surface of the Lino block, which furthermore give the piece of artwork that unique handmade quality that only Lino prints have. This is all part of the beauty of the medium and why I love Lino printing.
Please note Variations in colour of the screen are technically possible.
