Artwork description:

An atmospheric study of the lines of bare trees which have been reflected and refracted in the glass of a Victorian pumping station. Spotted on a walk around Swinsty Reservoir, just north of Leeds the building is more like a chapel that a machine plant - but that is how the Victorians designed their industrial buildings. The form of the trees are reflected in the glass but slight unevenness in the placing of the glass, through refraction changes and distorts these reflections. The viewer is both looking inside and outside the building.

Materials used:

Copper plate, etching ink, Fabriano paper
