This artwork is part one of a two part series looking at the affects of trauma on human consciousness. This painting is a brain map of the brain untouched by major trauma. It also serves as an optimistic vision of what the person healed from trauma can get back to - a state of being where the threat alert centres are not constantly on high alert, where memories and ideas have a clear destinations and routes to travel, where the mind is not distorted. This is a depiction of a mindset of calmness - a place to return back to.
