Original artwork description:

This artwork is part two of a two part series looking at the affects of trauma on human consciousness. This painting is a brain map of the brain affected by major trauma. Here the threat centre is on constant high alert, past memories cause pain and new ones are distorted. The pathways of the brain are scrambled and the world appears a dark and scary place. But, there are some signs of hope in the delicate flower-like structures in the bottom half. The traumatised brain can still navigate a way through these difficult spaces and find a way froward.

Materials used:

acrylic paint, oil pastel, pencil and paint pen
