~Tranquility~ Oil on Canvas, 36x24inch
This bold piece is simple but contrasting. The eye is drawn towards the effervescent shapes of the clouds and changing light in the sky. The sky is composed of mostly yellow, orange, red, pink and white tones, while the foreground (the perspective from which the viewer looks) is a dark gray in the encroaching twilight. The foreground was built up using thick oil paint and impasto medium.
The piece is moderately sized, and can serve as a simple but bold focus point in any room.
