Sundown in the city does not signal the decline of the day, rather it cues an energetic transitory moment pulsing with the energy of the arriving twilight. The setting sun casts a hazy orange glow over the New York skyscrapers, and the last rays of daylight pour through the cracks between the downtown boulevards.
Subway cars glide along the tracks above the city traffic, the steel overpasses framing the city like industrial photo frames. As people come and go, dusk approaches the city, illuminating itself with taxi headlights and glowing street lamps. Sundown, yet the city is very much awake.
