Original artwork description:

The title, "Trail Boss", reinforces the western subject of a weathered cowhand. The final work has a quick expressionist feel but each stroke was very calculated. My brush, loaded with color, hovered over the painting while practicing the direction, the pressure and the release. When I felt confident, aimed like a rifle shot, I made the stroke. Each stroke follows the form as if the brush was rolling across a 3D sculpture. I'm very pleased with this technique and plan on exploring and pushing this style again. As it cured in my studio, I continued to examine each stroke. Fully cured now, this painting and style is ready for you to enjoy.
