One of my painting as my pseudo : Romain Héjé, when i walk through the garden to the old barn where i paint on sundays when everyone left.
I choose to paint : TheTragic characters series as a break through my abstract paintings the need to face up to reality the state of things. Is the artist not the one which is suppose to represent her or his Time?
It is the painted reproduction of a newspaper photography. The subject is french football players training during the world cup 2006. The focus is on a particular player Frank Ribery. The three others are blurred on the photography because they are in motion. the four of them in spite of the fact that they are close to each others do not seem to share the same space. Yet together, they seems to be in a diferent set of time and space as if separated. What are they running to with such forcefulness attention and concentration? Then, the world is watching them on TV. Tragic characters.
The painting has a glossy varnish.
