Tragedy of war, inspired by Picasso’s Guernica, I often watch the news and see scenes of people’s lives destroyed by war, and I often think how do people live with such devastation, fear and chaos.
In Tragedy of war, you have the warlord with his girl, cigar and glass of wine enjoying power, power over peoples’ lives as he alone holds the key to life or death.
I painted it in black, white and grey I wanted it dark, I wanted it moody I wanted it to explain the tragedy of war. I want you to see something different every time you look at it; I want it to hold your imagination.
