Original artwork description:

This was painted from a series of sketches I made very early one Saturday morning. Trafalgar square was wonderfully empty and the morning sunshine flooded through the space. I wanted to capture the National Gallery in all its glory with the beautiful columns with St Martin in the Fields behind it. I have used the oil paint quite thickly to describe the textures of the buildings.
This is painted on linen canvas and framed in a wide, moulded grey frame.

Materials used:

Oil paint on linen canvas
