The etching "Towards the Sea" is part of a series inspired by the landscape of the Sussex Downs and the coast line.
It features the floating Downs and the Cuckmere River in an imaginative way and is not an accurate representation of the place. Instead it is more like a personal emotional response to this location. The image size is about 50cm x 60cm with a paper margin of 7cm all around. The steel plate from which the prints are taken has been cut by hand to give a floating plate edge supporting the soft flow of the hills.
Each print is an original, hand printed from one etching plate on acid free fine art printing paper.
Steel plate, aquatint and line etching, etching tools, etching press, ink, paper
