Painting in figurative expressionist style realized as a tribute to the centenary of the Funicular of Montenero, a town located on a hill overlooking the sea and the port of Livorno, considered one of the most famous places in Tuscany, due particularly to its famous Sanctuary (dating back to 1345) dedicated to a well-known sacred subject. This is the Madonna delle Grazie, an icon of which I have created the imaginary portraits of the Blessed Virgin and the Child who, together with the portraits of the characters of the Labronian vernacular, Beppe Orlandi and Carlo Carpitelli, dominate the foreground of the painting which unfolds into the background with a funicular railway and the well-known Sanctuary.
