Original artwork description:
Looking towards the old Spa building on the Hovingham Estate on a very cold, wintry January morning following snow showers. I was taken by the rich mix of cool green and blue long shadows across the fields contrasting against the warmth of the bare branches as they caught the low sun. It was a bright, sunny day when I set up my easel but as is often the case it quickly clouded over so reference and memory of the moment allowed me to complete this in the studio resulting in a more impasto style painting as I added subsequent layers.
DIMENSIONS: 19.7" x 15.75" (50cm x 40 cm) on canvas board, signed on the back.
Supplied unframed.
