"Tory Aurora" is a carborundum and chine colle print in an edition of 40 prints. The edition is variable, as the chine colle element of each print is watercolour on Chinese rice paper, and no two of the prints look exactly the same. The carborundum element is the same in each of the prints of the edition.
The scene is of Tory Island, off the North West Coast of Donegal, in Ireland.
The image depicts my impression of what the Aurora Borealis might look like if you were so lucky to be in the right place at the right time!
This print was first exhibited in the Royal Ulster Academy 137th Annual Exhibition in 2018 at the Ulster Museum in Belfast.
