The edges of the painting are painted a black to frame the lively composition. Several coats of UV varnish will provide protection from sunlight damaging the paint. This piece is wired in the back, ready to hang.
My technique involves starting with multiple layers of paint using a variety of tools and brushes that create a wide range of shapes, forms and lines. Upon starting, I paint intuitively and quickly. Nearing the end, everything slows down and I begin the process of discernment, carefully analyzing changes in value and composition until I am happy with the final painting.
