The paintings in Paola’s Dancers Series are rarely narrative, however this particular work tells the story of a woman torn between the two men in her life.

In a sense it is the painting which helped trigger the transition from the Dancers series to a new body of work called Undercurrents, both in its subject matter and monochrome colour scheme.
