The mountains and hillside streak by behind as the rider free-wheels. Low and streamlined. Reducing drag as much as they can. Do they even notice the blur of the mountain, it's trees and grasslands. Just keep on going down, down, down. Flat against the top tube of the cycle. Riders never look comfortable in this position.

This painting captures the Russian team Tinkoff Saxo, Polish rider, Rafal Majka flat against the top tube in the Tour De France 2015 (Stage 18).

I used water-soluble oils. One of the first works I've completed in this medium, which took a time as started in August last year ... some work in progress shots provided. Really pleased with the brightness of the results.

On a deep linen gessoed canvas which is 60 x 60 x 2.5 cm. Signed on the front bottom right in paint by the artist. The canvas stretchers are professional quality hardwood. Fitted with D-rings and a hanging cord. The image goes around the edges. Ready to hang.
